Hindsight is 20-200 (sic), but I wish Sarah Palin would've responded to Chuck Gibson's ridiculous "Bush Doctrine" question thusly: "Charlie, do you realize George Bush isn't running for president? You know this, right? What does this supposed "Bush Doctrine" have to do with the McCain/Palin presidential campaign? I thought you and your liberal friends in the media hated all that George Bush has done as it concerns foreign policy. Now you guys think he's had this grand doctrine with which he's ruled the free world with. Let's talk about the 'McCain Doctrine.' That's what John McCain will rule with when we win the election this November. The 'McCain Doctrine' is a doctrine which is strong on national defense and supports the military. The 'McCain Doctrine' is a doctrine which will pursue terrorists to every corner of the globe and elimate and kill any terrorist threatening our nation. The 'McCain Doctrine' is a doctrine which will destroy any foreign dictator who develops nuclear weapons to use on his neighboring countries. The 'McCain Doctrine' is a doctrine which will defend all free countries around the world if they are invaded by evil dictators bent on expanding their empires. That's the 'McCain Doctrine' Charlie--questions/comments?" That response would've destroyed that smugly paternal Gibson and made him look foolish for bringing up such a phony "Gotcha" question.
